Poker is a card game with 2-10 players where you try to get the best hand of cards. I like the risk and strategy, but losing money is not fun. Super Mario is a video game where you try to save a princess. The project portion of the Game Design merit badge gives Scouts flexibility to work with a medium of their choosing. The level of effort required to make a game in different mediums can vary significantly. However, the requirements define what each Scout must include in his design notebook so that there is a baseline for all Scouts to meet.

You can create a board game, card game, or any other type of game. The Game Design merit badge relies heavily on specific terminology. I used to very much think about the future of our organization because I always wanted to go from an RV to a sanctuary. And for the first time in my life, I’m very focused on the now. My plan is to grow this sanctuary to its fullest potential. I’m incredibly fortunate to have an amazing team of employees, and my hope is to elevate their expertise to a point where we can establish multiple Asher House sanctuaries.

Rather than a warehouse, Asher Houses are homes on expansive estates with fenced-in ranges where animals are allowed freedom of movement. Also not always shown, is the "long road to recovery" for the more afflicted animals, Asher said, adding solemnly that "they don't always make it."
